1. Deactivate vs delete
Deactivate makes your account inactive but recoverable if you sign in again. It is not permanent deletion.
Delete account (permanent deletion request) starts a process to remove or anonymise eligible personal data, subject to legal holds and open campaigns, payouts, or investigations.
2. Remove Instagram access only
- KoLink app or web → Profile → Disconnect Instagram, or
- Instagram → Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → remove KoLink.
We revoke stored access tokens and stop further API collection. Historical campaign metrics required for settlement, fraud prevention, or legal obligations may be retained.
3. Delete your KoLink account
Mobile app: Settings → Delete account → confirm.
Web app: Settings → Security → Delete account → confirm.
We may block or warn if you have unresolved campaigns, pending payouts, open investigations, or legal holds.
4. Retention periods
- Active production systems: eligible personal data is generally deleted or anonymised within 30 days after confirmed permanent deletion.
- Backups: eligible personal data is generally rotated out within 90 days, subject to immutable backup cycles.
- Financial and transaction records: retained as required by accounting, tax, and payment law.
- Fraud, dispute, and legal records: retained longer where necessary to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or establish or defend legal claims.
5. Meta / Instagram data-deletion callbacks
If you initiate removal through Instagram or Meta, KoLink receives an automated callback and clears Instagram credentials linked to your Meta user ID. You may check status using Meta's confirmation link.
6. Marketing opt-out
Marketing consent is separate from legal terms. Use unsubscribe links in emails or contact us to opt out of WhatsApp/SMS marketing. See the Privacy Policy.
